Challenge
During Covid-19, new and old trading apps invested a lot of their money in UA and branding creating an environment of extreme competition.
With over 20 million users across the globe in over 100 countries, eToro is the leading social trading platform. The user-friendly platform allows you to trade cryptocurrencies, stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and commodities. In particular, eToro offers a bunch of social features where users can interact with and learn from each other. You can follow the best investors and mimic their trades.
Our goal was to gain new users for eToro in strategic Geos.
Strategy
After a market research, we found out that our competitors are mostly targeting a young audience aged 18-24 (Robinhood type users). Knowing that other apps are more trendy/popular than eToro for these age groups, we decided not to go into a bidding war focusing on the same users but instead focused on aged 28-40, which were also getting into the market by the many but were also less excited/without any connection to the trendy apps.
· We had a steady growth month after month
· First month 1% deposits, six months after, 17% new deposits
· Click to Install rate – 0.07%
· More than 200 new FTDs on a daily basis
